Temporary Disruption of Laboratory and Medical Imaging Services at Fogo Island Health Centre

October 6, 2023 – Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services would like to advise residents of a temporary disruption of laboratory services (blood collection) and medical imaging services at Fogo Island Health Centre on Fogo Island today, Friday, October 6, 2023. This temporary disruption is due to human resource challenges. It is anticipated that regular services will resume on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Routine laboratory services are in place during regular hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) on Friday, October 6, 2023, however, after-hours coverage is not available.

The emergency department is open, however, if it is determined you require emergency medical imaging or laboratory services, you may be redirected to another facility.

If you are in need of emergency services, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest emergency room.
