Limited Visitor Restrictions in Place at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre
Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that limited visitor restrictions of one designated visitor per patient/resident will be in place on the Medical, General Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery Units at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander due to an outbreak of COVID-19 among patients.
This is a temporary measure to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and will be reassessed regularly to determine when visitation can safely resume. The public is advised that information regarding visitor restrictions is updated regularly, as needed, and is available for the central zone via https://www.centralhealth.nl.ca/visitor-precautions.
Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed in collaboration with the patient, family and health-care team. Immediate family members may contact their assigned unit for further information.
The public is asked not to visit any health-care facility if they feel ill or are symptomatic. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.
For more information about visitation guidelines, please visit https://www.centralhealth.nl.ca/visitor-precautions.
NL Health Services apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
