Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is hosting its fifth annual Health Innovation Summit from October 7 to 10, 2024 at the Health Innovation Acceleration Centre (HIAC) in St. John’s. This year’s theme is ‘A Call to Action: Incremental Innovation to Ignite Organizational Productivity.’ The summit will explore how small, strategic improvements can drive significant gains in productivity and efficiency.

“Every day, we see how small innovations can lead to significant health-care improvements that benefit our patients, clients and long-term care residents,” said Ron Johnson, chief operating officer of the Eastern Urban Zone and vice president of Innovation and Research for NL Health Services. “Health care is continuously evolving, and it is important for health-care professionals to help drive that change. Over the years, we have seen some outstanding innovations developed by our employees and physicians to help improve the way they work and, in turn, provide advancements in patient-centred care.”

The summit will feature engaging keynote presentations, interactive workshops, and real-world case studies on how small innovative improvements can produce greater outcomes. It also provides practical strategies to foster a culture of innovation that delivers impactful results to improve the health of patients, clients and residents.
