NL Health Services Announces New Innovation Partners

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is pleased to announce the addition of seven new innovation partners as vendors of record during its annual Health Innovation Summit. NL Health Services has entered into these partnerships to collaborate on creative solutions to enhance the health and well-being of patients, residents and clients.

Through an open call Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) process, NL Health Services formed partnerships with vendors of record who can provide professional services to NL Health Services. These new partners are AstraZeneca Canada, CGI, Ernst & Young, Fonemed North America Inc., GSK, Roche Diagnostics, and Trudell Medical.

“Working together on innovative advancements in health care will benefit all aspects of NL Health Services,” said Ron Johnson, chief operating officer of the Eastern-Urban Zone and vice president of Innovation and Research for NL Health Services. “We are looking forward to working with these partners as we continue to transform the health-care system for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.”

In addition to seven new vendors of record, NL Health Services also renewed 13 existing partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Care Partners, Deloitte, General Electric Healthcare, Vision 33 Inc., Medtronic, Mobia Technology Innovations, Accenture, KPMG LP, Lifeworks Canada, Ricoh Canada, Sequence Bioinformatics, and Seafair Capital.

As vendors of record, partners have unique opportunities to collaborate with NL Health Services on the development of innovative solutions for patient/service improvements. NL Health Services may also initiate limited call for proposals or issue challenges to these vendors based on specific innovation requirements such as medical device design and implementation or application and software development.

Innovation is one of NL Health Services’ values and has an important role to play to improve health outcomes for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Our Innovation Strategy aims to:

  • improve health-care services and programs through the application of innovative solutions;
  • maximize health systems efficiencies and minimize associated costs by leveraging the innovation ecosystem to build partnerships and generate revenue; and
  • generate economic development in the province and increase employment.
