Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that there will be a scheduled power system upgrade at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre in Twillingate on:
- Thursday, January 23 from 12:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
- Friday, January 24 from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
During the upgrade period, the site will be supported by emergency power. Patient care will not be impacted as the emergency department will remain open and most services will continue with minimal disruption.
Emergency medical imaging and laboratory services will continue to be available; however, starting Thursday, January 23:
- Routine and walk-in laboratory (blood collection) services will be available from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., returning to regular hours on Friday, January 24 at 8:00 a.m.
- Routine and walk-in medical imaging (X-ray) and electrocardiogram (EKG) services will not be available all day on Thursday, January 23 and will resume Friday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m.
During the power upgrade, patients and visitors may notice reduced lighting in some areas of the building. Signage will be in place throughout the facility, and staff will be on-site to assist with directing visitors and patients, if needed. Palliative care visitation will continue during this time. For safety reasons, we request that visitors consider visiting other areas at another time.
