Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that there will be a scheduled power system upgrade at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony this Sunday, February 11, 2024, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lasting for approximately 14 hours.

During this upgrade, the emergency department will remain open, patient care will not be impacted, and services will continue with minimal disruption. Critical care and coastal medevacs may be diverted to other hospitals within the region depending on power availability and patient care needs.

Emergency power will continue to be available with each floor experiencing a 10-15-minute period of scheduled power loss at the beginning and end of the day. Patients and visitors may notice electrical cords and reduced lighting in some areas of the building. Signage will be in place throughout the facility, and security and staff will be on-site to assist with directing visitors and patients, if needed.

NL Health Services apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
