Posted: October 8, 2023

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that visitation is temporarily restricted at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank due to cases of COVID-19 among residents.

This is a temporary measure to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and will be reassessed regularly to determine when visitation can safely resume. The public is advised that information regarding visitor restrictions is updated regularly, as needed, and is available for the eastern zones via https://www.easternhealth.ca/covid19/visiting-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/. Immediate family members are also notified directly regarding visitor restrictions and updates, as needed.

Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed with the health-care team. Immediate family members may contact their assigned unit or the site at 709-832-1660 for further information.

For more information about visitation guidelines, please visit the ‘Visiting during the COVID-19 pandemic’ webpage via https://www.easternhealth.ca/covid19/visiting-during-the-covid-19-pandemic/.

The public is asked not to visit any health-care facility if they feel ill or are symptomatic. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.

For up-to-date information on visitor restrictions and precautions in the eastern zones, please https://www.easternhealth.ca/visitors/visitor-precautions-and-outbreaks/.

NL Health Services apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
