Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that visitation is temporarily restricted at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor due to cases of respiratory illness.

Masking is currently encouraged for visitors and support persons in all clinical settings, including while visiting patients and residents and in waiting areas for health-care services/appointments.

This is a temporary measure to assist in reducing respiratory illness in the facility and will be reassessed regularly to determine when visitation can safely resume. The public is advised that information regarding visitor restrictions is updated regularly, as needed, and is available for the central zone via https://www.centralhealth.nl.ca/visitor-precautions.

Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should be discussed with the health-care team. Immediate family members may contact the site at 709-292-2500 for further information.

The public is asked not to visit any health-care facility if they feel ill or are symptomatic. For infection prevention, the public is advised to wash their hands frequently, cover their coughs or sneezes with a tissue or the crook of their arms and refrain from touching their faces.

For up-to-date information about visitation guidelines in the Central Zone, please visit https://www.centralhealth.nl.ca/visitor-precautions.

NL Health Services apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
