Temporary Closure of Holyrood Community Services Building Due to Ongoing Wildfire
Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that the Holyrood Community Services Building is currently closed due to the wildfire in the area and the evacuation order.
Health-care services continue to be available at alternate sites across the Eastern-Rural Zone. Where appropriate, individuals are being contacted directly and offered virtual appointments for services including public health, community health nursing, mental health and addictions and occupational therapy.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately. For all non-emergency medical support, please call the 811 HealthLine.
Health-care support:
NL Health Services recognizes that this may be a difficult time for people and encourages them to avail of mental health resources, if necessary. The following health-care resources are available:
- Virtual and in-person mental health counselling: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 709-752-4903. Individuals can also connect with a mental health and addictions professional at the Robert French Memorial Stadium, 70 Legion Rd, Conception Bay South (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
- Primary health care and community navigation: Primary health care is available to assist with community navigation from Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. For more information, please call 709-525-2980. Primary care staff are also on-site at the Robert French Memorial Stadium, 70 Legion Rd, Conception Bay South offering in-person and virtual primary care appointments on a drop-in basis from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Community health nursing and community support: For individuals currently receiving services through the Community Health Nursing Program, your provider will reach out to schedule or reschedule your appointment. If you have questions, please contact your provider directly. For community supports, individuals can call the Eastern-Rural Zone community supports intake line at 709-945-6512 (during regular business hours) or 1-833-752-3558 (after hours).
- Prescriptions: If people have questions about their prescriptions they can go to a local pharmacy who would have access to their prescription online and should be able to assist. Individuals can also call 709-945-6550 if they have questions.
