Get Involved
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services values the contributions of every person in making our health-care system better and stronger. We rely on those with lived experiences to keep us informed on how we are doing and to help us respond to the needs of the communities we serve.
There are many ways to get involved, from becoming an NL Health Services volunteer to participating in public engagement.
Engage with Us
We value your feedback on potential decisions, issues and opportunities. NL Health Services has adopted a Public Engagement Framework that outlines our commitment to public participation.

Community Advisory Committees
Community Advisory Committees (CACs) throughout the province engage community members, including clients and their families, in planning, implementing and evaluating primary health-care services. Our CACs are valuable resources that collaborate with health-care teams to improve the population’s health status. For more information on joining a CAC in your area, please contact:
Patient and Family Experience Advisors
A patient and family experience advisor is someone who has received care within the past few years, has had multiple past experiences as a client or family supporter, and is willing to share their experience to make a positive impact in health care.
NL Health Services has over 100 patient and family experience advisors across the province. These individuals participate in many ways, from being invited to provide input or help with short-term projects or activities to joining advisory councils and participating in leadership recruitment.
