Fraudulent accounts may:

Offer jobs, interviews or services that are not legitimate 
Request payment or direct you to suspicious links 
Use messaging or comments to create urgency or fear

  • Requests for personal information are limited, appropriate and occur only at specific stages (e.g., after a formal job offer).

What you will never see from NL Health Services 

  • Request or payment, fees or deposits of any kind.
  • Job offers or interviews conducted through social media or messaging apps. 
  • Requests for banking information, identification documents or passwords via social media.
  • Pressure to act immediately or threats if you do not respond.

If something feels unusual, urgent or inconsistent with how a public health authority would normally communicate, pause and verify.  

What to do if you see a fraudulent page or account 

  • Do not engage
    Do not reply, click links, follow the page or share any information. 
  • Report the account
    Use the reporting tools on the social media platform to flag the page or account as impersonation or fraud.

  • Warn others
