Health-care Services in St. John’s Resume Operations Impacted During Ongoing Wildfires
August 17, 2025Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is resuming operations for those services at acute care facilities in St. John’s (Health Sciences Centre, Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre and St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital) that had been impacted due to the ongoing wildfires.
Any patients last week who may have been rescheduled for operational reasons has been or will be contacted individually. Any patients who need to cancel and rebook appointments due to ongoing state of emergencies or wildfires are asked to call 1-844-528-1400.
Patients with a medical emergency who require an ambulance should call 911. Those who feel they have a serious or urgent medical problem should proceed to the nearest emergency department. If you are unsure if you should go to the emergency department, please call the 811 HealthLine or click here.
