New Ambulatory Health Hub Opens October 21
October 20, 2025Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services reminds patients and clients with outpatient health-care appointments in St. John’s that the new ambulatory health hub at Unity Health Centre, 28 Stavanger Drive (the former Costco building) will open to patients tomorrow, Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Patients and clients with appointment letters are asked to confirm the location of their appointment.
The following outpatient services will be offered at the new site beginning Tuesday morning:
- general and internal medicine,
- general surgery,
- total joint assessment clinic/bariatric optimization clinic,
- eye clinic,
- plastic surgery outpatient clinic,
- endocrine clinic,
- thrombosis,
- adult outpatient anticoagulation management services,
- cardiac diagnostics (electrocardiograms and echocardiograms including all walk-in electrocardiograms),
- medical imaging (X-ray machines with walk-in service starting on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.),
- orthopedics, and
- audiology.
Free parking is available for patients and staff at the new ambulatory health hub.
Some outpatient services will remain at the Health Sciences Centre and St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. In addition, some on-call medicine and surgery specialist clinics, as well as ear, nose and throat clinics, and rheumatology services, will remain at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.
The new urgent care centre, also located at Unity Health Centre, is expected to open in late 2025. More details will be provided in the coming weeks.
