NL Health Services Seeking Public Input on Expanded Meals on Wheels Program
May 14, 2025Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is seeking input from the public to help guide the future expansion of the Meals on Wheels program in the Eastern-Urban and Eastern-Rural Zones.
Following the recent announcement to offer Meals on Wheels in Placentia, NL Health Services is exploring opportunities to expand the program to additional communities, including those surrounding St. John’s (such as Paradise, Conception Bay South, Torbay), Clarenville, and portions of the Burin Peninsula (such as Marystown, St. Lawrence, Lamaline). This work is being carried out in collaboration with Compass Group Canada, the food services provider for the Eastern zones.
Meals on Wheels is a community-based program that provides nutritious, low-cost meals to eligible seniors and adults living with disabilities.
Members of the public, including current or prospective clients, caregivers, and family members are encouraged to complete a short survey to share their perspectives and help shape future service delivery. The survey is available at Engage.NLHealthServices.ca.
Over the coming weeks, staff will also be visiting communities to gather feedback in person. To stay informed about upcoming in-person engagement opportunities, register at Engage.NLHealthServices.ca.
