Temporary Primary Care Pop-up Clinic Opening in Carbonear

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public that a temporary primary care pop-up clinic is opening at the Carbonear Community Health Services Building, 15a Industrial Crescent, Carbonear, tomorrow (Monday, August 11, 2025). This clinic is being set up to help provide health care to residents in the area during the ongoing wildfire on the Bay de Verde Peninsula.

Health-care staff will be offering in-person care, such as:

  • Treating a cold, flu, or sore throat.
  • Managing minor injuries (e.g., sprains, cuts).
  • Addressing a urinary tract infection.
  • Evaluating and managing a rash or allergic reaction.
  • Providing care for a one-time medication refill or urgent symptom.
  • Navigation to resources or areas of support.

Walk-in service is available from Monday to Friday of this week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Patients can also book an appointment by calling 709-945-6550.

Mental health and addictions and primary health-care staff also remain on-site at the reception centre located at Carbonear Academy, 88 Valley Road, Carbonear. The public is reminded that at this time, services at Carbonear General Hospital, Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre in Old Perlican, and the Carbonear Community Health Services continue to be available and emergency departments are open. Western Bay Clinic remains closed.
