NL Health Services Launches Enhanced MyHealthNL Web Portal

April 29, 2026

NL Health Services launched an enhanced version of MyHealthNL, powered by MyChart®, Newfoundland and Labrador’s secure online patient portal. It provides access to personal health information and tools to support overall health and well-being. It gives people easier access to more of their personal health information than ever before through a secure digital portal and mobile app. This improvement comes with the launch of CorCare, NL Health Services’ new health information system.

The enhanced MyHealthNL allows patients to:

  • View laboratory results and medical imaging reports as they become available;
  • Access NL Health Services clinic notes and referral information;
  • View and manage NL Health Services appointments, including booking, confirming, and cancelling where available;
  • Check in online for NL Health Services appointments in advance;
  • Review medication information;
  • View allergy history;
  • Check symptoms and identify appropriate care options;
  • View Emergency Department wait times when using the On My Way feature;
  • Securely message the care team while receiving care in hospital; and
  • Book blood collection appointments online (for some locations). For more information about blood collection, please visit NL Health Services’ website.

“MyHealthNL has been a valuable tool in health management since its introduction,” said Ron Johnson, CEO (Interim) of NL Health Services. “This enhancement puts more information directly into the hands of patients so we can all become greater partners in our care. It supports transparency, helps people better understand their health, and makes it easier to stay connected to care.”

Accessing the Enhanced MyHealthNL

Accessible through a computer, tablet, or smartphone, MyHealthNL is designed to make it easier for people to stay informed and engaged in their health care, having easier access to their personal health information in one spot. NL Health Services has launched ‘One Spot NL’, a public awareness campaign to introduce the upgraded MyHealthNL patient portal.

  • Visit onespotnl.ca for more information, resources, and how-tos on accessing and using MyHealthNL.
  • People who already have a MyHealthNL account are being automatically transitioned.
  • You can access your account, or create one, at MyHealthNL.ca, through MyGovNL.ca, or by downloading the MyChart app on your mobile device. Search for NL Health Services within the MyChart app to access.

Becoming greater partners in our care

With MyHealthNL, patients can view most of their personal health information, including test results, as soon as they are available. In some cases, results may appear before a health‑care provider has reviewed them. After review, providers may add comments or interpretation that will also be visible in MyHealthNL.

Patients always have the choice to view results as they become available or wait to discuss them with their provider. Health‑care providers will continue to follow up with patients in the same way they did before. If choosing not to use MyHealthNL powered by MyChart, patients can still access care as usual.

Information is still being entered into the new system – this means older results may be appearing, while newer results are not yet added to the new system. We expect newer results to appear within a few weeks. Dispensed medication can be seen via the drop-down menu under “Dispensed Meds and Historical Results”.

MyHealthNL proxy access allows people to view the medical records of family members or others they care for, with permission. Users must be at least 16 years of age to have proxy access. Patients can also grant access to a trusted family member or friend to assist with managing appointments and other health‑care needs. All proxy access options model existing processes to access medical records of others.

“I was very fortunate to be involved in helping to build MyHealthNL, powered by MyChart. Developed through consultation with both patients and health-care professionals, it was a true team effort — with patients, for patients and, as the saying goes, ‘nothing about us without us.’” said Dorothy Mary Senior, patient and family experience advisor. “This online patient portal gives us secure access to our own health information and tools like booking appointments and viewing wait times, helping us take a more active role in managing our own health care.”

MyHealthNL uses secure systems and the highest privacy standards to protect personal health information. Information is stored on secure health‑care networks, with access controlled through unique activation codes, personal usernames, strong password requirements, and two‑factor authentication.

With CorCare, NL Health Services will be able to learn more about patients to help provide appropriate supports. When meeting with health-care providers, patients may be asked some questions about their housing, access to food, language, and more. Individuals may also answer these questions in MyHealthNL. The answers will help health-care providers better understand life experiences and provide more supportive care. For more information, see our Frequently Asked Questions.
