Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is pleased to announce the addition of 11 new innovation partners as vendors of record during its annual health innovation summit. NL Health Services has entered into these innovation partnerships to find creative and collaborative solutions to provide improvements for the health and well-being for patients, residents and clients.

Through an open call Request for Supplier Qualification (RFSQ) process, NL Health Services formed partnerships with vendors of record who can provide professional services to NL Health Services. These new partners are Aerus Active Pure Canada, Amazon Web Services, Amgen Canada, Care Partners, Davis Pier Consulting, KPMG LP, Lifeworks Canada, Ricoh Canada, Sequence Bioinformatics, Think Research Corp, and Visualized Care Inc. Working together on innovative advancements in health care will benefit all aspects of NL Health Services.

“As NL Health Services, the RFSQ process enables us to identify vendors who are aligned with our new vision which speaks to the health and well-being of every person and community,” said Ron Johnson, chief operating officer of the Eastern-Urban Zone and vice president of Innovation and Research for NL Health Services. “Innovation is a priority for our new health authority, and we can build upon these innovative partnerships in areas where we are seeing rapid growth in medical technology with the prime focus to improve health outcomes.”

In addition to 11 new vendors of record, NL Health Services also renewed nine existing partnerships with Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), Deloitte, General Electric Healthcare, Vision 33 Inc., Medtronic, Mobia Technology Innovations, Accenture, and Seafair Capital. As vendors of record, partners have unique opportunities to collaborate with NL Health Services on the development of innovative solutions for patient/service improvements. NL Health Services may also initiate limited call for proposals or issue challenges to these vendors based on specific innovation requirements such as medical device design and implementation or application and software development.

NL Health Services’ Innovation Strategy aims to improve health-care services and programs through the application of innovative solutions; maximize health systems efficiencies and minimize associated costs by leveraging the innovation ecosystem to build partnerships and generate revenue; and generate economic development in the province and increase employment.
