Services Impacted Due to Adverse Weather

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public of the following service changes due to anticipated adverse weather tomorrow (February 14, 2024):

  • In-person service at the community walk-in clinic located at 50 Mundy Pond Road in St. John’s will be unavailable between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
  • In-person Doorways services in Eastern-Urban and Eastern-Rural zones will be unavailable. Virtual services will continue normally. Please visit https://mha.easternhealth.ca/doorways/ to find a list of contact information.
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccination clinics at Mount Pearl Square and the Come By Chance Community Health Centre have been cancelled. Booked appointments are currently being rescheduled.
  • Breastfeeding support groups held at the following locations have been cancelled. Groups will resume at their normal times on Wednesday, February 21, 2024:
    • Kenmount Terrace Community Centre, St. John’s (10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)
    • Bay Bulls Community Health Office (1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
    • Goulds Family Resource Centre (2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
    • Heart’s Delight Town Hall (1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

NL Health Services advises patients and clients to check with their health-care provider’s office to confirm that their appointment is going ahead, and reminds patients and clients that there may be delays. Individuals travelling long distances are encouraged to call ahead to make sure their appointments are not impacted by the weather. NL Health Services also reminds individuals that if they are not able to present for a scheduled appointment to notify the respective health-care area(s). In case of emergency: Patients with a medical emergency who require an ambulance should call 911. Those who feel they have a serious or urgent medical problem should proceed to their nearest emergency department. If you are unsure if you should go to the emergency department, please call the 811 HealthLine or click here.
