Services Impacted Due to Adverse Weather

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services advises the public of the following service changes due to adverse weather today (February 21, 2025):

• All Eastern-Urban Zone community health sites and administrative buildings that do not provide a 24-hour service, will be closed for the remainder of the day. Other prearranged virtual services will proceed.

The public is reminded that hospitals, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, long-term care facilities, and other sites with 24-hour operations will remain open, and emergency services continue to be available.

NL Health Services advises patients and clients to check with their health-care provider’s office to confirm that their appointment is going ahead, and reminds patients and clients that there may be delays. Individuals travelling long distances are encouraged to call ahead to make sure their appointments are not impacted by the weather. NL Health Services also reminds individuals that if they are not able to present for a scheduled appointment to notify the respective health-care area(s). In case of emergency: Patients with a medical emergency who require an ambulance should call 911.
