Who we are

At NL Health Services, we are dedicated to providing high-quality laboratory (lab) services that help diagnose and treat disease. Our laboratory professionals collect samples and perform specialized tests on blood, body fluids, swabs and tissue samples using complex analyzers and state-of-the-art equipment. We offer a range of lab services, including blood collection, pathology, hematology, cytology/histology, chemistry, microbiology and more. These accurate and timely results are vital in making informed medical decisions about your health care.

We work closely with your health-care providers to deliver accurate, timely and meaningful results. Our laboratories are accredited by Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (ACD), an international recognition that ensures we meet the highest standards in medical testing and specimen collection. This accreditation also helps to maintain quality processes, maximizes resources and ensures patient safety.

  • Bacterial cultures for common infections.
  • Complete blood counts (CBC) to detect anemia and infections.
  • Blood compatibility tests for safe blood transfusions.
  • Cervical screening tests (e.g. Pap smears) for cervical cancer detection.
  • Prenatal screening for fetal and maternal health.
  • Biopsies for detecting abnormal organ and tissue cells, such as cancer.
