Introducing secure access to your personal health record online through MyHealthNL.

What is a personal health record?

A personal health record (or PHR) is a computer-based medical record that securely holds health information about an individual and is accessible by that individual. Newfoundland and Labrador’s PHR is called MyHealthNL.

What is MyHealthNL?

MyHealthNL is a secured website that enables people of Newfoundland and Labrador to access their personal health information.

Benefits

Having access to personal health records helps you:

  • monitor your medications,
  • better manage your chronic conditions,
  • have consistent access to accurate information,
  • have more informed discussions with health-care providers,
  • save time and transportation costs travelling to a health provider visit, and
  • easily and securely share your personal health record with family or trusted caregivers, so that those in your circle of care can support you through your health journey.

Rollout process

Access to personal health records will be completed on a rolling basis. A group of 5,000 people will be invited to participate in the initial rollout of MyHealthNL. Once invited, individuals can set up an account by logging in through myGovNL.

Once the initial rollout is completed, more people will increasingly gain access to MyHealthNL every month, until all residents of Newfoundland and Labrador are eligible to view their personal health records online.
